Let's talk - You know what I look up to?

I watched an interview of Will Smith with his family, and he said something interesting: Greatness lives on the edge of destruction. The phoenix rises from the ashes.
(He explains it a little bit in the interview, but I´ll tell my own interpretation.)

There is greatness in the moment where you're almost defeated. Because from there you can rise higher. You will become a better and stronger person from the obstacles you face.
Let´s say you have a goal. Don´t be afraid to take risks, because you're afraid to fall down. No, you keep going, and keep on fighting. Because even when you get beaten down, in the end you'll be greater. And maybe that's easier said than done. But I love that mentality, to always keep going to reach you goals. To stay loyal to your ideals.

Fighting for what you want. To me that is living life to it's fullest potential, and that's what I look up to. I look up to people who live life to the fullest so much. They make each moment count, no time to waste. No overthinking, regrets or being ashamed of who you really are.

But I don't mean to say that living to the fullest means that you solely fight for what you want. You also have to enjoy life to the max. Life could be short, so make it meaningful. Every moment is special.

Some quotes that are related to this:

~ 'I know that every mile, will be worth my while.' - Disney song: Go the distance.

~“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

I think kids are better at living life to the fullest. Don't get me wrong, a lot of adults know how to do it. But it comes so natural to kids. I think it's their constant excitement and curiosity to discover new things. And also, they don't worry about what other people think. So don't overthink, be free and stay excited! :)

Much love, Nolia

DIY roomdecor - the after results

Hello everyone!
Let me introduce you to my top shelf.
My topshelf

I want to talk about two pieces I DIYed.
First off, the branches.
I just went out into the woods and picked up these branches. You can find them on the ground. Use those, because they're probably already dried. I wanted to give them some color. So I painted them light and dark green with acrylic paint. I put a second layer of diluted craftsglue (similar to mod podge) over the paint.
you can hang jewelry on the branches :)
I thought it would be easy and quick to do, that it would only take me an hour or so.. I thought wrong! Maybe because I had to do two layers; paint and diluted glue.
I'd say the whole DIY took me 4 hours (!) drying time included.

Second DIY is a cloche, that can display rings. I just have a ring with a rose on the ringholder. And there are some other jewelry on there, but you can not really see them.

I really love the look of cloches. Especially the one in Beauty and the beast :P

Happy Days In Front Of Us

Here's a feel-good post for you; let's talk happy stuff.
Froyo, frozen yoghurt. They are kindof a hype/trend. And when some things are 'trendy', I tend to not like them anymore...
The same with froyo, but I have to admit: It's so much fun. You can pick toppings, the way it looks, and it's supposedly healthy. (It is Healthier than regular ice cream.)

So yesterday I had some. I find it kindof expensive, but to have it as a treat once in a while is okay with me :)

This is the one I made.

We went to a self service froyo bar. You can choose from different flavours frozen yoghurt. And the price is decided by the weight of your froyo cup. I chose natural, which I like the most and mango flavour. And a little dot of strawberry flavour.

Music of the moment

I think someone's playlist can tell a lot about their personality. So I would like to share some music I'm liking at the moment. I'll share 7 songs with you.
Usually I like R&B, but it varies a lot.

Two artists I'm digging lately: Jayh (dutch), Sam Smith (although I think I'm kindof getting enough of it already)
Here's my list:

1) Jayh - Mijn alles

2) Jayh - Mooie dag

3) Jayh - Claimen

4) Sam Smith - I've told you now
I heard this one in Jay Jays (an Australian clothing store) and I fell in love with this song. But I think I've listened to it 1 too many times. :p

5) Sam smith - stay with me

 An artist I'll always love:
6) Chris brown - partyhard (cadillac interlude)
I actually woke up to this song this morning.

I'll end this one with a song that's maybe a lil 'dirty', but hey, I still like the song :P
 7) K. Roosevelt - Do me now
